PROGRAM REPORT
The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology conducted a free ORAL CANCER SCREENING CAMP on behalf of NATIONAL ORAL MEDICINE AND RADIOLOGY DAY on 24th April 2024.The screening camp was conducted at Speed line spinning mills, Pallapalayam. Around 100 patients were screened in the camp. Chair side investigation was done for potentially malignant lesions using toluidine blue staining solution. Out of which few patients showed signs of dysplastic changes. The patients were given counselling regarding tobacco consumption and its side effects. Awareness regarding oral cancer was given using pamphlets. Interns, final year students and faculty members from Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology participated in the camp. Along with this, the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology of KLE VK Institute of Dental Sciences Belagavi, under the aegis of IAOMR conducted a national level Quiz competition for Interns on 22nd April 2024 on an online platform. Two Interns Deepthi V and Sowmiya M were selected to participate in the competition representing Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology from RVS Dental College and Hospital.
