INTERNATIONAL CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS DAY

Childhood cancer is the 2nd most common cause of death among children worldwide, though childhood cancer is rare when compared to adult cancer, but still creates more deaths among children from infancy to 15 years of age.
On the occasion of “International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day” being observed on February 15th worldwide, the department of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry, RVS Dental College & Hospital conducted an awareness program for the UG students & parents of child patient attending the department.
This program was headed by our beloved Principal Lt Col Dr.RGK Shet, MDS with the guidance of our respected Director Dr.Mohan Gundappa, MDS along with the blessings of Kalvi Thanthai, Dr.K.V.Kuppusamy, Chairman, RVS Educational Trust.
Educational & Awareness posters & Flyers explaining about the oral implications due to cancer & their treatment modalities were displayed & distributed. It was further emphasized by the Post graduate students of our department, Dr.Arvind & Dr.Priyatharsini by a presentation to parents, under the guidance of Dr.Senthil kumar, MDS, Professor, Dr.Madhumitha MDS, Reader & Dr.Priyankka MDS, Senior Lecturer, department of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry.
