General Anatomy including Embryology and Histology

Ever since the inception of the RVS Dental college and Hospital in the year 2008, the Depart of Anatomy has always created an excellent academic environment for the I year BDS students who from School enter into College. The Department of Anatomy strives to impart the greatest level of understanding in the subject of Anatomy for distinctive excellence in Dental Education to create competent graduates. Apart from academic education, in Department of Anatomy we equip students with moral and human values so that they can be a better Dental Surgeon in the society serving the mankind.

Department of Anatomy always encourages students for open discussion, free exchange of ideas and respectful debate. Faculties are available throughout the academic hours so that students can clarify their doubts at any time.

In order to ensure students reach their full potential, they are given so many opportunities to attend conferences and seminars, and students are guided by our faculties to do paper and poster presentations.

The Department of Anatomy caters a large dissection hall which can accommodate not less than 100 students, is attached with storage rooms for cadavers with tanks and embalming facilities. The Histology lab in our department houses adequate number of microscopes and a technician room with infrastructure necessary for slide preparation. The Anatomy Museum is housed with real specimens, working models and models which are in turn used for teaching. The students are allowed to use the Museum during the academic hours.

The Department of Anatomy has other infrastructures also. The department library is racked with more than 200 text books which are issued to staff and students.

It is indeed a great pleasure to note here that Department of Anatomy is allotted as the University Practical Examination centre by The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Guindy, Chennai for the neighboring Dental colleges.
