Onam celebration at our RVS Dental College & Hospital, held on 12th September, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., was a delightful blend of tradition, culture, and fun, bringing the entire campus together in the spirit of festivity. The day began with vibrant programs in the auditorium, where performances like a contemporary twist on the classic Mohiniyattam and a graceful Thiruvathirakali captivated the audience. Adding a modern touch, a creatively crafted video was showcased, explaining the historical and cultural significance of Onam, further enriching the celebratory atmosphere. The excitement continued with a lively fashion show, where students adorned in traditional Kerala attire walked the ramp with elegance and pride.
After the performances, traditional cultural games such as musical chairs, tug-of-war, and the playful Sundari Kupputtathodal energized the participants and brought a sense of camaraderie. The joy of the festivities was heightened by the delectable treats served to everyone, including the much-loved adapradhaman payasam, crispy banana chips, and sweet, crunchy sharkara varatti, all of which added an authentic Kerala flavor to the celebration. The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and a shared sense of heritage, making it a truly memorable and enjoyable event for all who attended.
