CONTINUING DENTAL EDUCATION (CDE) PROGRAM TITLED “OCCLUSAL DYNAMICS IN FIXED AND REMOVABLE PROSTHODONTICS: FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE”

EVENT SUMMARY
The Department of Prosthodontics, Crown & Bridge, RVS Dental College and Hospital organized a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) program titled “Occlusal Dynamics in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics: From Theory to Practice” on May 5th and 6th, 2025. The two-day program was designed for postgraduate students and interns and witnessed active participation from delegates of KSR Institute of Dental Science and Research and Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital
The event was inaugurated with a welcome speechby the Principal and Director, Dr. Vijay V.K followed by an address speech and Chief guest introduction by Dr. Ranjith Varghese, Head of the Department of Prosthodontics. The program was graced by the presence of heads of various departments, along with postgraduate students from multiple specialties.
The guest speaker, Dr. Prakash, Professor and Head of the Department of Prosthodontics at Anil Neerukonda Institute of Dental Sciences, delivered a comprehensive and enlightening lecture on the philosophies of occlusion, including its application in both fixed and removable prosthodontics.
The afternoon session on Day 1 featured a hands-on workshop on recording centric relation using the AFR Mini Reg system.
Day 2 included practical sessions on occlusal wax pattern carving, a demonstration on removable partial denture (RPD) surveying and designing, complete denture (CD) cast analysis, and occlusal plane evaluation.
The program concluded with an interactive session focusing on exam-oriented questions, key clinical points, and common dos and don’ts in prosthodontic practice. Certificates were distributed to all participants at the end of the session, awarding a total of 10 CDE points (5 CDE points per day).
