RVS Group Of Institutions jointly with TamilNnadu State Council for Science and Technology have inaugurated a cell for intellectual property rights on 17.09.2025 at RVS Dental College & Hospital. Esteemed resource persons, Prof.Dr. Vincent, Member Secretary, TNSCST, Chennai, Mr. A. Raja, Deputy controller of patent and designs, IPR Office, Chennai and Dr.B.Vishnupriya, Project Scientist, TNSCST have graced the inauguration ceremony organized by Prof. Dr. Vijay, Director cum Principal, RVS DC&H and Dr. Nagendran, IPR Co-ordinator, under the guidance of Mr.Badri, Advisor, RVS GOI and Mr.Balachandar, Trustee and chief Engineer, RVS GOI.
The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr.Nagendran, Head of the department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry followed by a Presidential address by Dr. Vijay.V.K, special address on IPR by Prof. Dr. Vincent and vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kavitha, Head of the department of Oral pathology. The session proceeded with lectures on " Fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights" by Mr.A.Raja and "Patent filing procedures and its importance in academic research" by Dr.Vishnupriya, from which faculty and students of various colleges of RVS GOI have gained benefit. Through these lectures an insight on how the innovations, discoveries and scientific researches are legally protected. The event concluded by the remarks given by Dr. Karthika. Dr.Mallika, Dr.Sharmila, Postgraduates and interns of Department of pediatric and preventive dentistry have extended their support in making this event successful.
