GUM HEALTH DAY CELEBRATION 2023
Department of Periodontology, RVS Dental College & Hospital, takes immense pleasure in celebrating Gum Health Day wherein Doctors and students of this department take this opportunity as a great initiative to promote and enhance the knowledge and science of Gum health.
Gum Health Day celebration was held on 12/05/23 with this year’s theme being “Healthy gums look good on you! Protect them!” given by the European Federation of Periodontology.
The celebration started with the blessings of our beloved chairman Kalvithanthai Dr.K.V.Kupusamy, Chairman of RVS Group of institutions, and with the guidance of the Director of RVS Group of Institutions Dr.V.K.Vijay, the program was initiated by Lt.Col.Dr.R.G.K Shet, the celebration was taken forward by Professor and Head of the Department of Periodontology Dr.Deepshika Saravanan, Reader Dr.M.Senthilkumar, Senior Lecturers Dr.N.Sakthi Ganesh, Dr.K.K.N.Saranya, Dr.Vinu Sarangesh , Dr.Kanimozhi and Tutor Dr.Pratheeba.A. Postgraduate students Dr.J.Bhavadharani, Dr.S.Sivasarankuar, Dr.S.Sowmya, Dr.J.Alphonsa Nevis Roshini , Dr.U.S.Harita, Dr.A.R.Niroshini .
A small lecture was given by Professor and Head of the Department of Periodontology, Dr.Deepshika Saravanan about Oral hygiene & maintenance and its importance in oral & systemic health to the students. Oral health awareness video was shown to the general public and students to create awareness on the importance of periodontal health. Free Scaling was done for the patients followed by instructions for oral health maintenance given using various models and demonstration by our interns and postgraduate students. Periodontal treatment motivation was given using motivational video.
At the end of the day, the importance of maintaining Gum health was inculcated to the general public through a “Rally” which was inaugurated by Director Dr.V.K.Vijay on 12/05/2023 by interns and postgraduate students and Pamphlets regarding gum health maintenance was distributed to the general public. All the events made the Gum Health day a grand success.
