MAXILLOFACIAL TRAUMA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI) conducted Maxillofacial Trauma Awareness Campaign all over India for the year 2023 on August 26.
RVS Dental College and Hospital, Coimbatore, was a part of this campaign, OMFS team- Dr.Vigneswaran.T Prof & HOD, Dr.Prabhu Sankar.K, Dr.Priyadharsana.P.S, Dr.Maneesha Shree.G.R & Dr.Vigneshwar.S, addressed the topic of trauma and road traffic accidents to a total of 217 students from the RVS College of Engineering and Technology. Dr.Vigneswaran.T Prof & HOD, Dr.Priyadharsana.P.S and pg student Dr.Arundheepan .P, provided information about the common types of maxillofacial injuries that could occur due to accidents, discussed preventive measures, and emphasized the significance of wearing helmets & importance of seat belt.
Additionally, OMFS pg students Dr.Yokeshkumar.P ,Dr.Pavithra.M, Dr.Ashwini.A, shared insights on the role of oral and maxillofacial surgeons in treating trauma-related injuries and restoring facial aesthetics and function for those affected by such incidents. Students from RVS College of Engineering and Technology benefited from these talks.
