WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION - 8TH MARCH 2024
Every year March 8this proclaimed by the UN as “International Women’s Day” to celebrate “Women’s Rights & World Peace”. The United Nations has designated this year 2024’s theme as “Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress” with a focus of addressing economic disempowerment, while the campaign theme for this year is “Inspire Inclusion”.
An inspiring lecture was given by Dr. Deepshika Saravanan, M.D.S, Prof. & Head, Department of Periodontology , R.V.S Dental College & Hospital on the topic “Oral health and Women Health” for Young women at R.V.S Homeopathy Medical College & Hospital , Coimbatore. The importance of maintaining Oral hygiene and its role in balancing the systemic health was explained to the audience.
As a part of this women’s day program A free screening camp was conducted at CADS Software Technologies Ltd. , Periyanayakkanpalayam , Coimbatore.
The importance of maintaining Oral hygiene were explained to women patients with the help of pamphlets and free samples were distributed to the patients .
This 2 day camp was mainly targeted to spread awareness regarding Women empowerment, Inclusion of Women in Various fields of Society, Changes occurring in the systemic health from infancy to old age , relationship between systemic health and oral health especially among Pre-pubertal and Pregnant women and they were motivated to participate in regular oral hygiene screening and routine oral prophylaxis to prevent the occurrence and progression of gum diseases.
